Crawfordsville – Esther Elizabeth Maxwell, 92, of Crawfordsville, died at 11:52 p.m. Friday April 23, 2004 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. Born June 17, 1911 in Montgomery County, she attended Wingate schools. She married Lawrence K. Maxwell April 2, 1927 in Wingate. He died in 1963. Mrs. Maxwell was a homemaker. She was a member of Smartsburg Christian Church and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1431 Auxiliary. Surviving are five sons, Wesley Maxwell (wife, Vivian) of Oxford; Don Maxwell (wife: Beverly); Marion Maxwell (wife: Mary); Bob Maxwell (wife, Linda) and Bill Maxwell (wife, Marna) all of Crawfordsville; and two daughters, Diane Dexel (husband, Dennis) of Farmington, NM and Betty Harris (husband, Aubry) of Clinton, Ark; and a sister, Mary Bayless of Crawfordsville. Services are Wednesday in Crawfordsville. - kbz
